Memorable Moments In Shahdara
Shahdara, A food lover's paradise in Delhi is the place where we started our childhood. Located in East of Delhi, its a place where u can find delicious delicacies like Gol Gappa's (Pani Puri), Dahi Bhalla, Chat Papri, Tikki and Lassi. The most popular of them is the Lassi designed and developed by Shyam Lassi Wala. Then there's Bedami Puri made by Kuber Puri Wala. Initially, in the 80s, the DTC buses used to come inside the town but then due to heavy traffic involved were moved to the main bus stand in Shahdara and people used to take Rickshaws from there houses to the bus stand. We lived there from 1976 to 1997 and enjoyed every moment of life there. We used to play cricket in our Nana's wonderful and big home which had a big varanda in it. Those were the golden moments of our life and we still miss a lot of not being there and occassionaly go there whenever we get time...............

There were other good places also like hira sweets, chinatown in west gorakh park, then prem punjab dosa wala in rohtas nagar, then tiki wala in rohtas nagar, then kaashi dhoodh wala, then there was a small pakora shop in naveen shahadara which was very good, then sat halwai famous for meda ki poori in shivaji park ....
Every thing was special about shahdara.. all festivals be it holi or diwali it was so much fun in those streets of shahadara.
I miss shahadara a lot now.
